Morel wins CES Innovation Award

Ness Ziona, Israel - January 15, 2004 - Morel's new line of car audio speakers have once again, received world-class industry recognition. The Morel Hybrid Ovation 6 has been named the recipient of the prestigious CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award. Morel, a designer and manufacturer of high-performance loudspeakers for car and Home hi-fi audio, has become renowned for its commitment to technological innovation and design excellence.

Morel's Hybrid Ovation 2-Way Component Systems represents the latest in materials and technologies available to the 12Volt market. Compact, slim and efficient, the Hybrid Ovation drive unit with an over-sized EVC™ Hexatech™ aluminum voice coil and double magnet system delivers exceptional sound. It derives its name from the unique magnet system design, a "hybrid" of neodymium and ferrite. This unique design also insure reduced mounting depth for easy car installation.

The new Uniflow™ aluminum die-cast chassis enables the smooth flow of air and sound waves without having any effect on the woofer's moving parts. Its aerodynamic design minimizes sound reflections and increases performance. The low profile flat spider provides greater support and stability to the voice coil and cone during the most demanding operating conditions. The proprietary DPC cone material features a one-piece injection molded process that is both extremely rigid and yet has a high stiffness to mass ratio, for excellent transient performance.

The MT-22 tweeter with 28mm (11/8") diameter Hexatech voice coil is hand-coated with special Acuflex coating. This tweeter provides smoother linear frequency response, enhanced mid-range reproduction, and crystal-clear high frequencies.

Morel's new Accuset™ crossover networks and the Accuset™ sound alignment system were designed with installers in mind, enabling easy adjustment of the crossovers with 6dB or 12dB crossover frequency roll off selection and five-different tweeter level settings (ֲ±4dB in 2dB steps). The Accuset Alignment system is remotely connects the to the crossover networks enabling crossover settings to be fine-tuned to achieve optimal soundstage and performance from any listening position in the car.
