The Museum’s iconic building, designed by Ron Arad, is transformed into a musical instrument in an exploration of the relationship between sound and design from
29 June 2017 – 28 October 2017.
“As an Israeli and international company, we are excited about our collaboration with Design Museum Holon and happy to provide the opportunity to expose all the museum visitors to a quality, extraordinary sound experience performed by our loudspeakers and raw drivers as part of the sound exhibition” Said Oren Mordechai, CEO of Morel.
Morel’s flagship FAT LADY award-winning floor-standing loudspeakers and our new SoundWall™ Surface hidden in-walls will be located at the Dr. Shulamit Katzman Gallery (the Lower Gallery) were “Sensing of Sound” is the theme presenting an interactive installation created and curated by Anat Safran and Lila Chitayat in collaboration with eight sound artists. Designed as an open platform and transforming the gallery into a resonating chamber, the installation includes original sound works composed especially for this space, which are translated into visual representations influenced by the movement of the visitors.
“Sound is one of the most significant “raw material” in the designer’s toolbox” says Maya Dvash, Design Museum Holon’s Chief Curator.
